Child Centred Provision

The needs of its pupils should be central to all that a school does. Schools promote a culture of achievement and ambition, equality of opportunity, have high standards of child protection and promote healthy lifestyles to enable every child to fulfil their potential.

Schools will ensure that every child receives a high quality experience, has the opportunity to follow appropriate educational pathways and receives the support they need to overcome any barriers to learning they face (e.g. a special or additional educational need, pastoral care).

Programmes in this section will provide an insight into how schools make provision to meet the particular needs their pupils have and ensure they are supported in overcoming barriers to learning. Some of the programme material will be familiar, but there may be a few new ideas to inspire change in your school.
