St. John's PS Carnlough - Lesson Observation

Fiona McArthur, a primary inspector with the Education and Training Inspectorate, had the opportunity to visit St. John's Primary School Carnlough and observe a primary 3 lesson.

The school's recent improvement work had focused on developing the numeracy provision across the curriculum, in particular, the World Around US, to continue to raise standards.

In the following series, a problem-solving numeracy lesson, set within the context of the children's World Around Us topic, is broken down into key phases. At the end of each phase a key reflection question is presented.

The last programme in the series, is hosted by Fiona who invites class teacher and principal to reflect on the teaching and learning within the lesson.
